Safe Environments for Children & Young People – Through their eyes

Safe Environments – through their eyes has been developed by the Department of Human Services Child Safe Environments SA team to support individuals who work or volunteer with children. The course will assist them to recognise, report and respond to children or young people who may be at risk of harm and build their ability to provide safe environments within the organisation. It gives them knowledge and understanding of their legal obligation according to Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 to provide safe environments for children in their role of working with or alongside children in South Australia.

This course is delivered by a DHS-approved facilitator.

Full training: It is a 7-hour full-day training session. You must complete it if this is your first time doing the training or your safe environment check has expired.

Refresher training: It is a half-day training session for those who have previously completed the full day training session. The half-day session is to refresh your knowledge. Refresher training cannot be done if the initial full day training accreditation has expired.
